How do I look after babies belly button once the chord falls off?

Sorry for the question but i really have no idea. Do i just clean it with a wet cotton bud and then a dry cotton bud? This is what i was told to do before the stump fell off.

yeh i just kept it clean with water and make sure it stays dry. Once Mia's fell off it still took a little to heal. So it looked abit scabby for a little bit. I wouldnt advise cleaning it with anything but water so just continue what ur doing! ur doing a great job!

yep DS' looked a bit like that adnthem on night i cleaned it and wthe whole scabby part fell away.

If it looks like pus though go get it checked out.

yeh the scabby bit does eventually fall off. Mia's did.. 3 times.. yep kept falling off and coming back, just smaller each time. lol

I agree, just clean it with water. Make sure that you dry it well. Cotton buds are great for washing and drying it you can get right down to the base. Do nor worry agout hurting your baby, there is no feeling in the cord.
