we just cut bottles from DD2, she's 32 months! so a fair bit older than your DD, we just told her that they were all gone, and suprisingly she took to it quite well, now when she wakes overnight we get her up and pour her a small glass of milk and she hops back into bed.
honestly hun, if it works, go with it until your in a place mentally where you can deal with the no more bottle fall out xxx
