I feel dumb, but I have to ask...

So in the 8 weeks of my little one's life, I have so far managed to avoid needing to use a public toilet. But one day, inevitably, I will be out with him and will need to use one. What do I do with my baby?!!!

Do I leave him in his pram outside the stall? Do I take him in with me and try to do some gymnast like one handed toilet manouver? Do I leave the stall door open?

Sometimes I feel like there is a whole set of "mum ettiquite" that I have NO idea about... can someone fill me in?!!!

    Ta!

i always take him into the stall with me- if you go to a baby change room they usually have a toilet in a big stall in there (sort of like a disabled toilet iykwim?) just for this reason

I ask my friend to watch DS while I'm in the loo, use the mother and baby loo or disabled loo, which you can put a pushchair in, or don't go.

Carriers are great too, going to the loo with a carrier on is so much easier than figuring out what to do with a pushchair!

I generally use parent rooms and they have big toilets where you can fit the pram in with you!

I use Parents Rooms if they are available, otherwise a disabled toilet will usually be big enough to fit the pram.

I use the parent's room or a disabled toilet (the ones that are for parent's too with a change table).

Not a dumb question at all!

    i did this too!!
i was busting and had to drive all the way home just so i could go to the toilet and my gf said why didnt you use the disabled toilet?!
duh! i felt like the biggest dummy! but being a first time mum and not one that ever used a disabled toilet before i didnt even think of it!

so use a disabled toilet(if no parent ones around) cos you and the pram can fit in there

I use a parents room when there is one, but since having my DD have no issues in using a disabled toilet if there are no parents rooms.. (mind you, I felt so guilty the 1st time I did it).. Much safer to have bub in your sight at all times..
