    Kindermusic, Gymbaroo - What else?

I am trying to find something to do with Laa, a weekly activity which we can do together.

My local council doesn't run anything.

Kindermusic isn't running where I can get to.

Gymbaroo starts at 9:05, half an hour away from school.

    GRR!

Any other ideas of what I can google?

    TIA!

I go to a thing called mainly music which is run by the salvation army its really really good.

Music program then the kids have morning tea which is supplied then they play/have art in a fenced off area while the mums have morning tea which is also supplied, all up goes for 1.5hrs and is $4 per family no matter how many children you have

A few of the songs are a little religious, but mild so just depends if this would be ok for you...

for example one of the songs goes through all different parts of the body with actions, like we are waving to our friends and we thank you God for hands etc etc

Mainly Music, Rythm and Rhyme. There was another one I found but I can't remember the name of it. I'll try and find it for you.

Your local public library will probably have story-time & craft activities for toddlers & preschoolers. They will also have information (though you might need to ask where) on other parenting resources & activities in your area.

Also get in touch with Playgroup Association because there is *always* a number of different playgroups in the area - depending on when and where and what focus you want.

Also, Kindergym is another name for Gymbaroo type activies around the place.

Our local library does Baby Bounce for babies 12mths and under as well as storytime for children up to school age. Both are free and with storytime you only need take a piece of fruit to share afterwards so it would be worth looking at what your local libary has to offer you and even if they don't do organised activities you could still make it a weekly event where you and Laa go to the library and sit and read their books for an hour or so.

    Thanks guys

We already go to story time/music time at the library, I was really hoping for some kind of gym thing.... nothing terribly close but thankyou Marydean for mentioning Kindergym, there is one that I might be able to get to!

None of the other things mentioned are easily accessible. Its so frustrating, I had access to so many more things in south west Sydney than we do in the inner west!

Kitt3n I just checked the playgroup nsw website and there are four in your suburb (although 2 are on at the same time) which should be walking distance...

it's hard to find good activities... we signed up for kindermusic over here but TBH I was really disappointed.... it was very lame and for some reason the teacher was really stingy about letting the babies play with instruments and stuff. Hope you find something fun!
