hi, i caught the tail end of a story on the news last night about a meningococcal vaccine. is this part of the normal schedule or do i have to go to the gp specifically for it? what age should kids have it at? thanks
also, what age can kids the flu vax at?
Flu vaccine for children: worth discussing with your GP. They can vaccinate for flu from 6 months of age, but I think they tend to only recommend it as a routine measure if there is a specific medical condition involved. For one, they need to use a special vaccine for small kids (and it changes every year) and also they have to have 2 doses to get the same effect. There's loads of info here (govt Immunisation Handbook)
