my 8mth old crawling before he sits?

hi im a lil worried about my bubba!
hes nearly 8months old and will not sit up dsnt have balance and is too interested in whats going on around him, he has started crawling this morning and has been rolling since 4months so hes been active but sitting!!! any one kno any details about this or had this happen??

My DS could sit, if I put him in a sitting position for about 10 secs at 6 months, but he had no interest in it. He wanted to crawl, and preferred to be on his knees rocking and trying to move...
He was confidently crawling around 6.5-7 months, and within a week of him crawling, he would sit alone, unassisted. It was kind of a side sit for a bit, but it became a good sit quite quickly.
I was quite worried too, but turns out my worry was for nothing...

Both my girls crawled about 1 month before they could sit...he'll get there don't stress hon

both my boys are crawling but not yet sitting. The health nurse was happy with this as she said sometimes when babies sit first they can take longer to crawl

T - it's nothing to worry about darl!!!
Most child health professionals will tell you that they SHOULD be crawling before they can sit, because they should be able to put themselves into the sitting position themselves.
I am sure H is just fine, don't stress!



ETA: OMGoodness, he is not 8 months old already? Time flies....

Everyone has pretty much answered. Just wanted to say hugs. it'll happen. My DS walked before he crawled i guess its the same thing

What the girls said! Its so hard not to worry though. DS crawled way before he sat! He was just so full of energy and still wont just sit still. I was worried cause other peoples kids were sitting and he wouldnt but he is fine now, can do it all!

My DS also Crawled before he sat, although he did lots of things "backwards" hehe. Brendan stood before he knelt as well.

It is hard not to worry, but they do get there eventually and in their own time.

My son crawled before sitting. He crawled at 6 months & started sitting at 7 months but now at 8 months he still is on an angle & has to prop himself up with one hand. I think he was far too interested in crawling around to bother learning to sit properly.

Pretty much the same thing happened here...Cameron crawled at exactly 7 months, but still couldn't sit up. I was able to plop him into the sitting position, but would only last a few seconds or a little longer if I put him in the couch I bought him for xmas. Then only 3 weeks ago (just over 8months) he went from crawling position to the sitting position...I was so excited I started clapping and cheering - it just happened out of nowhere. Don't worry about it too much, it'll just happen one day when you least expect it.
