I have a nearly 5yo and a 2yo who both have it and it just cannot be removed. DD's is just clearing now. I have tried everything, oils, egozine, bicarb paste, moogoo, combing with a fine comb, even scratching it off.
It looks yuck but it really isn't harmful. It does go away by itself eventually......I just wish it would hurry up. That said I have terrible psoriasis, and I'm not surprised my kids have it.
