Question about the exemption form.....

I went onto medicare recently and printed off the "Immunisation Exemption Conscientious Objection form". Is this all that needs to be filled out to keep the family assistance office happy?

DD had some of her vax's up until age 6mths when we decided not to continue with the schedule any further until we are ready.

I keep getting letters saying we cannot pay you the first amount of Mat Immunisation Allowance blah blah.....

And, do all GP's sign this form? Have you heard of any GP's NOT signing it for someone? I have a pretty good GP I've seen alot over the last 3yrs so hoping she'll sign it no worries for me? Don't see how it would affect her anyway?

I'm not sure about the correct form, I just signed it at the gp when we were scheduled to go?

It sounds like the right form. I got mine from my GP, so when you go to get it signed you could always ask if they have any blank forms. She signed it without any worries. If you've been seeing your GP for that long, they should know you well enough to know that you haven't made the decision lightly. The form just confirms that you have been counselled.

Same as the others, they printed out the form while I was at the dr's. I personally can't see any reason why any doctor would refuse to sign it, it is ultimately your decision and as long as they inform you of the risks of not vaccinating that's basically their 'job' done.

I have heard of Dr's refusing to sign it. Mine didn't have a problem with it luckily.

Most gps will (should) listen when you say "we have decided not to vaxx" and sign the form for you.
