Both of mine went from two feeds overnight to one feed overnight at 6 and 7 weeks. (Though DS2 did try to go back to 4 hourly feeding at 11 months for comfort!). I would have thought this to be in the normal range. Though I guess it depends a bit on how the baby is being settled to sleep as well...

Mine were both 6 weeks, sleeping anywhere from 8-12 hours without a feed. (Might not be the "norm" but was the norm for both of mine).... Things went pear shaped at 4 -5 mths for both though with 2 hourly waking for a few months before going back to sleeping long stretches.

Thanks? I said I didn't want to know that. Especially when my eye balls are burning and there aren't enough match sticks in the world to keep my eyes open.

I don't think there is an average Hun every child is different and every child goes through different stages of waking more frequently, fortunately that's what babies do! The only thing we have to compare is to our own babies so maybe that's why people are sharing their experiences...sometimes we don't want to read things saying it will get harder but it's just the facts of life.
8 weeks sounds way too young IMO but like I said every baby is different and it's hard to find an average! Sounds like you need some sleep ...can your hubby settle her after you have fed her so you can get some rest? Or can you express and get hubby to feed her on the night shift?

There are more than enough threads of people talking about their personal experiences. I chose not to read them. That's my choice. I just wanted to know averages.

It's quite interesting that one of those studies noted a higher rate of wakefulness at 12 months compared to 4 months.... so obviously a certain percentage of babies sleep through early and then stop and don't start again till over 12 months.
