Hi ladies, not sure if i'm in the right forum, but was wondering if anyone uses a sleeveless sleeping bag on their bubs overnight?? It get's fairly cold in my area (NE Victoria), and i've actually been using a cotton long sleeve the last month or so, but my DS is growing out of it quickly. I looked on internet at most of the sleeping bags are thick and look comfy, but sleeveless. Wouldn't the arms get cold???

When DD was younger i put a wondersuit (or long sleeve suit) on her, her sleeveless sleeping bag and then her sheet and blanket... she stayed snug as a bug!
we use the sleeveless ones too (bubaroo from memory) and they were very snug. like ZB mentioned with a wondersuit they are snug as a bug and are less likely to overheat (we used a bonds one with sleeves for awhile but DD is a bit of a sweaty bub and this was overkill IYKWIM).
they have all different togs and this is a guide to how warm they will be given room conditions...HTH! (oh, and we used ours in a house in canberra in mid-winter with no heating and it worked a treat!)
They are fantastic! Like everyone has said, put a long sleeve suit on underneath if it's a bit cooler and they'll be lovely and toasty I use the long sleeve sleep suits in winter. You can get cheaper ones from Best and Less. Big W have them too.
Same as others wondersuit and singlet or as he got older singlet and flannelette pjs.
Growbags or dreambags we use, no issue until DS1 worked out he could undo press studs and then would end up cold as he would take sleeping bag and pj pants off.
we use the grobag brand, and they come with a little guide as to what to dress the bub in under the sleeping bag depending on the temperature (which I found great as I'm always cold but didn't want DD to overheat) so somenights, she would just have a long sleeved bodysuit on, other nights a long sleeved body suit and a pj top, and then on colder night i'd add pj bottoms or an all in one suit as well.

That's right they do I forgot lol. You can look it up online - any sleeping bag that the same tog level should have the same clothing requirements regardless of the brand.
Thanks ladies, my problem is I already have him sleeping in a long sleeve all in one suit plus the sleeping bag, and the last wk or so have added a singlet. so when it gets really cold???? granted i've just had him in the cotton type suits not the bonds toweling type ones, which I suppose would be warmer??? He won't keep any blankets on either!!! Any thoughts on the polar fleece type bags,?? Thanks again ladies!!!
we're grobag users as well. we started using them last winter for DS because he hated being wrapped. we don't have any heating & we got through winter with a 1.0 tog & lots of layers. this year we might get a 2.5 tog though just to be on the safe side.
My bub has a polar fleece suit without the arms. She wears a cotton jumpsuit with no feet atm, but when it gets colder I will change her to a bonds towelling suit.
If you're concerned about the SIDS risk, the grobag brand would be best. The warm ones look delightfully warm (even with no sleeves) so I doubt you'd have a problem.
My kids have worn fleece ones to bed though and I like them. That's JMO though, I think you only do what you're comfy with when it comes to dressing your babies for bed. My older DD wears a polar fleece jumpsuit (the zip-up ones with the feet) which I think are great for older kids. Like going to bed in a lovely warm track-suit.
