Every child is so different. DS2 truly didn't speak more than 20 words until after he was 2. However he had amazing comprehension and was able to do things most children his age were not yet doing. DD2 has well over 20 words at 15 months yet her comprehension is less than DS2's was at this age, and she does less physical things than DS2 did too.

She sounds like she's perfectly normal then. As long as she's developing in at least one area- even if it's very slowly- I wouldn't worry. They all learn at thier own pace.

BTW- I'm pretty sure I posted the exact same thread around the same age as you have. Lol

I don't think my DS was really saying anything at 12 months - lots of babbling, but no clear, distinguishable words. He did walk right on 12 months though, so I figured he was focusing more on his physical development.

He is now 22 months and says HEAPS of words. Every child develops at a different pace, and often you'll find they go through little developmental spurts where they'll suddenly start saying a bunch of new words.

Don't worry, sounds normal to me .
