Question At what age do I buy DS first pillow

    Hi

DS is 21 months old and I am wondering when do I look at buying him a pillow and what sort of pillow should I buy?

Anyone that can help would love to hear from you.

Olivia is 18 months and I bought her a pillow ages ago and it is just another toy. We have tried sleeping with the pillowcases to get our scent on them but nope doesn't work. She just throws the pillow out of her cot. Mind you if she sleeps with us she kicks us off our pillows so who knows what she wants. I bought her one of the junior pillows from Big W.
Good luck trying to work it out. I'll be watching to see what others have done.

our child has just turned two. we've been putting a sofa cushion (small, square, not very plump) in her cot with a pillowcase on it. sometimes we find her using it, sometimes not. we started using one to help her breathe better at night, when she had a snuffy nose.

We purchased a proper one from Babyco, not really hard IYKWIM so is best for her, our DD is 11 months old and has just started using one now in her toddler bed. Seems to like it but it's only been a couple of nights!!

DS had a cot pillow and used it from about 9 or 10mths old, at first I had it under the bottom sheet when he had a cold and he has had one ever since. I also used one under the sheet sometimes when he was under 3mths old because he was a very spewy baby and had to be elevated a little.
DD hasn't had a pillow at all though.
If your DS isn't worried about having a pillow I wouldn't get one, unless its just for show when his bed is made. Oh and DS's pillows aren't anything special just basic pillows

Thanks everyone. I think I will wait a little longer he doesnt seem to want one at the moment and quite content on the matress with the underlay which is soft. I have a blanket rolled up against the headboard because he tends to move around in his sleeping bag and hit his head so that was my main reason for thinking of a pillow which might stop the moving around.

Also, when should i take the side panel off the cot and make it into a bed.. that is another thing i am worried about because i dont want him getting out and roaming around the house while we are sleeping.
