What has happened to my good girl?

DD is three in just under a month the last one to two weeks her behaviour has deteriated to the point where I don't know who this horrible naughty child is and it is breaking my heart. She is very very strong willed but she is the worse she ever has been. She is back to hitting, kicking, biting, beating the crap out of her brother (never done this before), throwing things when told no, back chatting, refusing to listen, won't do anything she told and everything is a fight. The last six months or so we made massive leaps forward and she was turning into a beautiful little girl but now she is being just naughty and horrible and pushing every single one of my buttons and has me at breaking point every single day. She has also dropped her day sleep in the last week too.
We use count to three then time out, reward good behaviour and distraction (but this isn't working). Nothing is working at the moment. When she is told no or asked not to do something she yells at us, hits us, throws something at us, so is told to go to time out but she makes sure she hits DS on her way there .
I'm at a complete loss as what to do with her. I've taken all sweet things and treats out of the house (easter bunny came back and took all the chocolate away). She is refusing to eat. For tea last night she ate a pea! Breakfast was a mouthful of daddy's juice and lunch was one small bite (the tip of a quarter) of her sandwich.
I'm crying everyday because I just don't know what to do with her or for her. It is breaking my heart because I am just hating having to spend time with my most precious little girl. What kind of mother am I for hating to spend time my little girl??
So what can I do to get my gorgeous little girl back?
    TIA,
    Dan.
P.S. sorry if it's all jumbled - my thoughts are just all over the place at the moment.

Um it sounds pretty much like a normal toddler babe

But we are all going through it - so we're suffering together

I have to say, that the lead up to 3 was worse than it is now - at 3 and 3 months

There is light at the end of your very looooong tunnel. Why the bad fairy waves his wand with such force beats me but the good fairy eventually does come along.

Keep up what you are doing. The naughty chair in the middle of the room, so she cannot kick the wall and you can still her, is still worth it for time out. After you have told her to sit on the chair and told her for how long, if she hits or kicked you tell her you are adding time for that behaviour.

Don't worry about her not eating, as long as she doesn't get other food she will eventually give in and eat. She will not starve.

When you have had enough walk away from her. Let her know that her behaviour is upsetting and hurting you. It is a hard time you are going through but she will eventually turn around and become your strong willed beautiful DD again

I would just take her to the gp and get her checked over, you know, ears and stuff for infections, even bladder infections etc.

Just saying this cause my niece was feral for weeks, my sis just happened to be at the dr one day and mentioned it the dr took one look in her ear and she had a bad middle ear infection, didnt have a cold or nothing for ages, and never once complained or whinged about it.

But if all is good then really its just perserverence, I guess we are going to be putting up them pushing button until they move out of home

I was really hoping and praying that her behaviour isn't just her age but it was something I could fix easily - wishful thinking apparently. That's a good idea about moving her time out to the middle of a room so she can't play with anything. I'm just so sad because we had a few beautiful months where she was just beautiful and so much fun to be around and now, oh well, guess we'll get there again.
Guess it is perserve and chant "this too shall pass".
    Thanks gorgeous ladies
