DD listens to whatever we're listening too. she does have a nightlight thingy that plays classical music and shines stuff on the roof for when she's not settling at night, but the rest of the time it's our music - which is usually country, but throw in jewel, pink, elton john, guns n roses, fleetwood mac...
DS listens to what ever we have on. This can vary from ABBA to Pink to classical music to heavy metal! He sort of just ****s his head and gets this funny look on his face whenever the song changes!
Whatever we have on. The radio alot or DP's mixed CD.
His fave songs are Pokerface by Lady Gaga, and Boom boom pow by Black eyed peas.
He actually sings along to the Boom boom pow one with a "boom boom boooooooooooom".
Took me ages to figure out what he was saying cause he'd say it alot but once I worked it out it all made sense.
When DD2 (whos now 3) was a baby I would settle her with some Jose Gonzalez, she loved that, and was a guaranteed settler in our house..but she also loved whatever I was listening to at the time, and it would get her attention if it was something she recognised (ie: if she was crying or carrying on, if she heard a song she heard a few times before, she's stop and listen and often forget what she was going on about!!). She loves songs from Dora the Explorer now and sings along with them, but I have an MP3 disc in my car stereo that plays a lot of The Cure, Icehouse, Janes Addiction (yes Im an 80's tragic) and she can sing along to these ones quite happily, and these are the ones that will often calm her in a long drive when she is getting fidgetty and impatient.
I love music and will expose my kids to as much as possible (with the exception of death metal!! lol!!)
Cohen listens to whatever we have on in the car or at home. He LOVES Lady Gaga and say's "Gaaaaa Gaaaaa" whenever she comes on in the car or on MTV. He also loves Michael Jackson and says "Mih" when he comes on. My husband loves all the meavy metal music and Cohen loves it too. He headbangs with Joel in the car. it's sooo funny. At night time I have The Piano soundtrack playing in his room and he has fallen asleep to that since he was about 4mths old. He's also into High 5 but that's about it in the kids music.
