What a perfect baby... Your experiences?

So to all those with new babies or under 1...

I am ready to kick someone firmly on the behind, if I have one more person suggest that I am due to have a horrible bubs because dd was such a "perfect baby"

Ds is 9 days old and feeds every four hours. He is a fabulous sleeper, so far.
But I have been told this will all change and he will be screaming soon.... : (

So what are your experiences, how was your baby the first few weeks.. How did he or she end up?

I am very aware that he is still very young but would love to hear your experience none the less. DD was exactly how DS is now.. No spitting up, hardly needs to be burped and is just really happy. ; )

Well there is no such thing as a perfect baby. You would have had days with DD she would have been a little grissly. It every baby is going to be different and there is no perfect or by perfect babies.

Ignore them, you are their mother, you are the expert. Xoxoxox

Ha... How many times have I heard that.. I ment perfect by my standards. Which means happy. Maybe I should change that to happy baby?

I've always found my bubs were "perfect" until they were 2 weeks old. Then reflux kicked in and they woke up a bit to the world and didn't settle as easy.

That's not to say you will experience that, some babies are really good ones - I just haven't had one yet rofl

Ha Mel. Reflux.. the dreaded word. Two weeks... so counting down! Lol. I am surprised your not cuddling your bubs yet!! XX

I've had pretty much happy babis.

My first born well I was new at it all, but with my 2nd and 3rd, I think I was just more relaxed and i got them into a good sleep routine quite early (cos I knew what I was doing) which I think helped. That being said my youngest 2 boys both became really unsettled around 4 to 5 months, think they were just starting to get a bit hungry, once they started on solids they soon went back to being quite content and good sleepers.

Fingers crossed I have been lucky in that I didn't have any reflux or constipation issues.

My baby feeds heaps more than 4 hourly, doesn't sleep that often or for very long, has colic until 12 weeks and is still perfect.

Maybe you just make perfectly happy babies and are doing such a good job, thats why he is so content

our J-man was a 4 hour routine baby from the day he popped out, started sleeping around 6-7 hours over night within a few weeks, and was sleeping 10-12 hours at around 3 months.

people initially kept warning me that 4 hourly routine wasn't enough when he was little, then they kept warning me that one day it would turn to pot, now they warn me that our next baby will be a nightmare, and J-man is the teaser, to trick us into having more.

DS was asleep for pretty much 3 weeks straight. lol. at about 3 weeks, he woke up a lot more. he now has a screaming fit every day at about 11am. (i think its his arsenic hour) as he is perfect in the evening. he does grizzle a fair bit but that is getting less as he gets older.
but in saying that he sleeps right through 12 hours with 1 wake up. so im happy!!

We haven't even conceived #2 yet and I've already had these comments - from the MIL of course

People are just stupid!!

But I did want to add that every baby IS perfect - perfectly normal, they do all the things we expect, sleep, dont sleep, cry, feed, spew, get sick, smile, get wind, poo, coo, etc etc. If a perfect baby is described as one who is quiet, and is barely an interruption to our lives, then these people must have a pretend baby!!
