Re heating up - my iPhone does get quite hot, but generally after about half hour of talking or games, or any other constant use.
Something else to note with iPhones, and this is really my only complaint, is that the battery runs down SO fast! I charge mine every night, because if I don't it'll run out the next day. If you're playing games or making calls, it'll run out in a day. If you're not using it, it'll run down in about a day and a half.

We broke one about 9 months early and only had about $100 to pay out That was due to a stolen phone Was also through T at the time, but we are with 3 now and I am really happy there and at the moment only playing for our plans as out phones are paid for
if you have an MRO, you can opt to continue paying your phone, and add the iphone mro on top of it. i'm not sure exactly what the options are as i don't work there any more (and haven't done for ummmm over five years), but you can definitely have more than one mro on the go at any given time.
Umm I'd be telling them your current phone is stuffed! I had my E51 for almost 2 years (broke my contract yesterday, 2 months early, they waived fees) and NEVER had an issue with it at all EVER. I only got a new phone because DP needed a new phone and I was closer to the end of my contract than he was. So he got my phone and I got the new one (score).
If the phone is heating up that much then it may be a faulty phone issue - handsets have a 12 month warranty.

Good question. I find it doesn't get hot unless it's charging and I speak on it for a few minutes. It doesn't get hot while just charging and it doesn't get hot while just speaking...weird.

And yes, BG is correct. The monthly repayment of the phone either as one-off payment, or as a recurring monthly. If you're upgrading the phone but staying on the monthly access contract (if you chose one) then that will continue until it ends.
The phone payment is separate from the monthly access contract (which isn't mandatory).
