Optus $79 fusion plan is it good value or recommend a good net/landline plan

Hi I am looking into the optus $79 fusion plan for net and home phone as I am sick of paying for landline rental and high costs that telstra are offering. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with this plan I have read the fine print but just wanting some more info or if there are better plans out there

thats the plan we have and out net is shocking!

its so slow and drops out all the time, we are converting to telstra at this stage unless we get a better deal somewhere else or optus dramatically improves

We love our Optus Plan.
I think the speed will be to do with the quality of the infrastructure as ours is fine. Although it is noticably (by super geek husbands, not myself) slower during peak, but still functional.
It's a pity they don't do a decent stand-alone cable deal because we really only wanted the big internet plan, rather than a phone line.
We have the phone with everything included (except non optus mobiles) and we dont even use it .
The only thing that really peeved me off is the first bill because they dont apply credits until later on.... they didnt advise us of that so the first bill was $150 more than we were expecting!

The worst thing about cable is that it is hard to come by - if you are in a cable area i would take advantage of a cable plan as chances are the adsl line hasnt been connected in a while and it will cost you a fair chunk to hook up.... that was the case with us at least.

ETA: just thought i would add that we are on the 99 (maybe 109) which is like 500gb of internet

We have cable with telstra here and I noticed there are cable optus outlets in our lounge as well so will see if I can get cable

We have that plan and it's been great. We've lost the net a few times for 10 minutes or so but that could and would happen with any provider.

I had nothing but trouble with Telstra over the years and vow to never use them again if I can help it.

That was the plan we were on. It doesn't have a lot of download so not great if you use a lot of youtube etc but I was downloading quite a lot of journal articles for work with no problems. Speed was fine and price was great. We had problems when we moved though - took 3 weeks for connection. We don't have a landline or anything now but probably would get the same plan if we did.

I'm on the optus $129 fusion, but they had an offer where i got the 129 one for 99, i LOOOOOVVEEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get 50gb of net, i can pick up the phone and call ANY local number, any international number, any mobile and any 1300 number and my bill never goes up!!! I have never had a problem with speed or loosing net ever.

I did have to pay a bit for the line, not sure how the cable or whatever works, or wireless if you can do that. Sadly we are about to move and where we are looking it looks like i may not get to have it anymore i am so bummed!!! I looked on teltra and to get the same as i have with optus it will cost me something like 159 a month!!! When we do finaly move and if i cant get wireless i will be so PO'd if i have to go with telstra!!!!

We have this plan with cable and have for about 4 years with no problems. I hated paying line rental so was the reason we changed. After the contract time you can change your plan at no cost which we have found great.
