    Etag questions

DF's new job requires him to use citylink on a daily basis, We have an account open with them where they deduct the toll fee's as he uses it. We were just wondering if its cheaper to have an actual etag?
ive searched the website but all i could find was the fee's for the unit.
    TIA xxx

For daily use - yes much much cheaper to have an etag.

We have the same account as you and we get a search fee of 85c for every use- its not much but adds up if you use it daily. Having an etag removes that charge and the trips I believe are cheaper

I remember talking to someone at Eastlink before I moved to Melbourne, and I believe you get a certain percentage off for having an etag. I don't know how much exactly though. And yes, there isn't a plate matching fee with an etag, and there is if you don't have one.

We have an etag, we have registered our bank account details and they deduct an amount of around $25 every month or so if we use it. If we don't use it, they don't deduct. Somehow, the system just makes sure we are in the postitive. It really is much easier and yes it's a bit cheaper.
We are also registered online, so we can check on it, they also send out statements that tells you how much and where.
They are transferrable as well, so if you sell a car and buy a new one, you contact them to change the details. We also had to buy a new caddy as once the caddy's are on the windscreen, they don't come off without breaking. The caddy was only a few dollars and they deducted that out of etag account.

Yes you can use on eastlink also - and it is cheaper to have an etag. Not because you save on the tolls as such, but you don't get charged a video matching fee which you do if you just have your bank account details registered.
