Sorry to crash DD, but I'm interested too!
No I haven't called them, I was trying to avoid calling someone, I would prefer to see the figures in front of me so I can tap tap at my calculator.
I went onto the switchwise website where they provide rates but I was a little suprised that companies lower down their list in overall pricing had cheaper rates... it just didn't add up.
I think I might call energy watch or the essential services commission once I have narrowed down my options and see what they say.
Not a problem blessedatlast![]()
you just need your most recent bill handy so you can tell them a few numbers (like what that they charge per (whatever unit of measuring electricity is) lol)
yeah it is a PITA i must admit, i dodged their calls for ages - i thought you could just get on their website but you have to sign up & then they rung you - but when i finally answered i got the answer i needed![]()
Thats the problem we haven't had an electricity bill in over 15 months and then it will be a new house again with different features etc so I have no idea what our usage will be. I do remember that my bills (usage) always seemed to be alot less then everyone else I knew when we where connected so I am not sure that them (enery watch for example) working out our usage using a family of 4/5 and 3 bedroom/2 living rooms will be accurate IYKWIM and since the rates change after the first 1000 or 1500 kwhs used it could mean alot to our final bill.
I am thinking of signing up to one with good rates that has no contract/no exit fee for the first couple of bills to see what our usage is then calling enery watch to make sure we have the best deal.... ohh I am just babbling now.
blessedatlast - the power is most likely switched off, if you call them ASAP today they should be able to switch it on in time.
Thanks DD - The power is actually still on. They are sending someone out Monday but we can apparently still use it. I just went with AGL. I was with them before. I'm on a contract with a 5% discount..
we are with tru energy if that helps, im not sure where you are in vic, but we r country as well and they have been the cheapest where i am - no contracts
maybe ring them for a quote??
I had actually forgotten to get the electricity connected and we were supposed to be moving in over the weekend. Anyone know if I call tomorrow what my chances are of getting it on by the night or by sat night? I'm not sure if the electricity is on at the property or not. I'm hoping so then the names just have to be switched..
We rang energy watch and were told that dodo was cheapest for us too, but both DH and I were a bit dubious having only known them as an internet provider. So we asked for the next one up which was Red and we signed with them. Our bills have dropped massively. Plus the customer support staff are really friendly and based here in Oz. So I guess what I'm trying to say is energy watch, for us, was worth the call!
