This is my first ever house with gas. I just ran out at 5 days off 2 months (had to get a bottle the day I moved in).
Mine runs the oven/stove, hot water & heater. I've had the heater on 3 or 4 times, not for very long. I do alot of cooking, sometimes having the oven on for hours (part time shearers cook) & I'm pretty easy going with the hot water.
So just wondering what the average is. Specially with hot water. Looking forward to a small power bill too! (Well it better be!)
We go through a bottle a year for just the cooktop of the stove. If I try to run the heater as well, I will go through a bottle in 3 weeks (that was with me at home all the time)
Just looked at a house with gas cooking, gas hot water (continuous flow) and a gas heater. They claimed they used a bottle a month.
We pay $99 per bottle and I think about $35 per year per bottle for rental.
Our hotwater and stovetop are gas.
We get about 2 months, tho the climate smart man said that the hot water service is set too low and turning it up to 60 deg will mean we use less gas.
Our oven and heating are electric.

I don't mind the hot water on gas. Actually, I'm not sure yet, but I'm hoping it works out cheaper.
My power bill was $600 - $700 every quater. I was off peak 2, so water was heating twice a day. Pretty sure estimates say that would use about half your power bill.
If thats true, I was paying $300 - $350 every 3 months just for the hot water. I'm only paying $125 every 2 months so far with gas. I think thats pretty good
Sounds cheaper definitely. I would just hate to run out here as they only deliver once a week and imagine no hot shower! I can happily not cook for a week!
