I called pre end of year and to my surprise no increase.

I am a bit sour though - dd has been at her childcare since about 6 weeks after it opened its doors and now - thank you herald sun who named the cheapest childcare centres (ours being the second cheapest at $67 a day) its impossible to get additional days for work now I have to pay full fee for occassional care if I have to up my days for any extended period of time.

I must admit I knew they were very cheap (childcare has risen so much in 4 years so they were in line back then but never put their fees up) but I love dds childcare because they are more than 18 year old directors and 17 year old carers like so many places near us. They have a big variety of ages caring for the kids, they are under control if the kids, they have big rooms and outdoor play areas- age specific and they had a 0-1 room. When we moved though we started to commute the extra half hour to keep her there because childcare in our area ranged from filthy to catastrophe and priced as LOW as $80 a day up to $95 a day. We figured we wouldn't spend as much on petrol.

It means dd won't have familiar faces at school but will finish where she started which is nice (I never had that luxury - 4 primary schools, 3 high)

Wow sorry for hijacking your thread- its been playing on my mind if we have another bub so I seem to have unleashed a bit
