at this point, mat pay, if your entitled to it, is employer funded. many people aren't entitled to it

you are entitled to up to 52weeks of mat leave under federal law - well, it's actually parental leave - dad can take some of it, just can't BOTH take it at same time - but whether you are paid or not is entirely up to you employer at this point.

ETA - if it's in your contract/award that you're entitled to X weeks maternity pay, they have no choice but to pay you hun
