For those who have tried these tips...

Just wondering how you did? What worked really well, what didn't? We already do most of these, but I still feel like we could be spending less.

    My tips:
I know turning switches off at the wall didn't make any difference for us...we had an energy meter installed and it didn't move at all whether we had everything on standby or turned off.
Not buying work lunches was a big saver here....though that was only DH and he'd use his 'miscellaneous' money for that if he wanted, so it wasn't coming out of the household budget.
Meal planning saves a lot of waste (and $$). Making things from scratch rather than buying sauces in a jar etc
Home baking rather than buying snack foods.
Our electricity bill last quarter was huuuuuge! Blame the dryer...
Taking snacks if we go out. Do half day trips in the morning or afternoon so we weren't out at lunchtime. Day trips with lunches out mean picnics or BBQs.
Buy a water filter jug rather than bottled water.
We love our $1.50 bread! It has the same percentage grains, less salt than many other brands, freezes well and tastes great, IMO!
Combine all our insurances for a discount.
    Combine home, mobiles, Internet.
NEVER pay credit card interest! We also use our 'points' for gift vouchers, which we spend on specials to get even better value. Or, on groceries, and then we have cash to spend wherever we want.
We don't buy books or DVD's.
