Actually anything over $2000 medical expenses directly offsets your tax payable - so unless you've paid more than $35000 tax this year, I am guessing you'll get it all back!

Yes, sorry, anything over $2000 (last fy it was $1500) you get 20 cents in the dollar directly offset - sorry, that was a late night post! You'll still be looking at $7000 or so offset. My bad mistake sorry!!!
