Rally again for Childbirth Rights “because childbirth rights are human rights”
Our first rally was a great gathering of people who care about how babies are born and who demand respect for birthing women. Join us again in raising awareness of childbirth rights. The company is good too!
When: Thursday 5th September 2013 10.00 – 11.30am
Where: The Women's Hospital cnr Grattan St & Flemington Rd Parkville 3052
What: A peaceful gathering of people holding placards with messages demanding women's right to choice in childbirth.
Why: Medical interventions in childbirth are at record highs with no concurrent gains in safety for mothers and babies. Many women report feeling abused and disrespected in their experience of maternity care. They feel disempowered rather than empowered by their birth experience.
It is time that we claim back our own power in childbirth.
Our right to informed consent and informed refusal.
Our bodies, our babies, our right to decide.
When: Monday, 7 October 2013 10:00 until 12:00
Where: Hyde Park Fountain, Sydney
Birth matters; it affects the way we meet our babies, and the way we parent. The way women are treated during childbirth matters, along with the outcome.
Come and support the rights of mothers surrounding child birth; to have access to informed choice and evidence-based health care, and to be treated with dignity and respect. We aim for better outcomes for more mothers and their children

I m not sure. will let you know if I find anything. there are quite a few rally s going on worldwide this week. I think inspired by Labour day in the US, but happening all over the US, Europe and here.

Where: Hastings Road, Opp Frankston Hospital
Geelong and Traralgon events are also planned for November.
