I think an email off to A current Affair might be in order. They would love a story like this.
Just sent this to Facebook Press:

    Hello,

I am writing to inform you of my intent to take public the results of a petition hosted online at

Facebook Must Lift the Ban on Breastfeeding Imagery Petition

This petition deals directly with the violation of international anti-discrimination laws by Facebook. Recently, Facebook has experienced negative press with in Australia, and I invite you to rectify this situation before I am forced to take this public. As you can see, with only a very limited number of people KNOWING about this petition, the support received has been overwhelming.

Support for this cause (not just myself, but others too) can also be seen at:

    and

Hey Facebook, breastfeeding is not obscene! (Official petition to Facebook) | Facebook <http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2517126532&ref=ts>

I encourage you to please read in full the articles, discussions and links on both these pages before you make your decision.

I will be providing this story in print to Take 5 magazine, Thats Life magazine, the Newcastle Herald, the Port Stephens Examiner, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian and And the Sun Herald. I will be contacting the Today Show, Today Tonight, A Current Affair and TTN for face-to-face interviews, and I will be providing YouTube with a video and written statement. Further to all this, Several international breastfeeding support sites have shown their support for myself and other women who have had their accounts disabled or images removed, and are also making statements on their blog.

The only people who find Breastfeeding offensive are the ones that get upset because they arent getting to play with them.

You are welcome to telephone me to resolve this situation, I receive over 5000 emails per day now supporting my fight against this ban. My number is +61 XXX XXX XXX. Please call between the hours of 9am and 8am Australian Easter Daylight savings time.

I will send this email daily until the situation is resolved.

    Sincerely, Serene Johnson

Guess who wrote to the Californian State Governor!!!

    Hello sir,

I am writing this from Newcastle, Australia. I am sure you are wondering why. Well, it is because I use Facebook. I love Facebook. Or well, I did. I had a lot of friends on Facebook. But on March 11 of this year, my account was disabled. I'm sure you are now wondering why I am writing to YOU about this, especially from Australia. Well sir, I am writing to you because Facebook states in its terms and conditions that it operates under Californian Law. I am sure you know that breastfeeding is protected in all public places and places of business within the state of California, that it is not considered public indecency, lewdness, or obscenity, or by proxy pornography, offensive or nudity. When I was reading this law, I didn't see anything excluding or precluding "virtual" public businesses, forums or social utilities from within California. Further more, the Facebook Headquarters is located in Palo Alto, California. Therefore, it is within this jurisdiction.

I am now going to tell you my story.

On March 9, to celebrate International Womens Week, myself and several hundred women changed our profile images to images portraying breastfeeding. None of these images showed nipple. We were very careful of that matter. However, several of us had our accounts disabled. This constitutes outright gender discrimination, and is a violation of Californian Laws created to support and protect breastfeeding. Californian Law, which Facebook professes to abide by.

Further to this, the actions taken by Facebook serve to further demoralise and dishearten women worldwide regarding breastfeeding, and recreate an environment where breasts are only an object of sexuality, an environment which has taken many MANY years to overcome. Allowing this censorship of a natural and LEGAL public act is unconscionable, and I urge you to condemn it in the utmost. The following links will take you to several support groups, petitions and even a FORMAL petition to Facebook:
