    Hypnobirthing

Hi. I am doing a hypnobirthing course in March and I would love to hear some of your birthing stories if you did Hypnobirthing.

    Thanks!!

There used to be a few threads on this, maybe they were removed with the clean up?
I had a great exp with HB. I railroaded DP into paying for the course (wasn't working at the time) saying that it was my investment in the birth I wanted.
I had a fabulous birth experience, labouring entirely at home, in peace and confidence in my body.
I literally breathed DS out into the bath at the BC, the midwives were very supportive of my HB birth plan and ended up not having to do a thing except run the bath and provide the jug for DP to pour water over me.
I hummed (albeit loudly!) during the last couple of hours of labour, to get me through. I felt no need to vocalise in any other way, and that's just a personal thing on my part. I wanted a very, very peaceful entry for my baby and I got it. It was the zen birth I wanted

hmm this is something i have been interested in as well. i have heard only positive things from ppl using these techniques, so i guess i would LOVE to know more!!

but being me i am sitting on the fence between going down the calm birth road or the hypnobirth road...although the latter i feel may have more 'success' in keeping us focused ITMS?

are there any good books on this stuff? hmm i guess i should check out the labour reading list thread LOL!

    Thumbs up

I did a HB course before the birth of DS2 and even though I didn't do it "properly" (LOL! I didn't practice the meditation exercises enough!) I was fearless and extremely calm throughout the whole experience. Highly recommended!

i practiced hypnobirthing with my first pregnancy. unfortunately it did eventuate as i had planned as ds1 had the cord around his throat twice and i had to have an emergency caesar. however, i absolutely loved practicing the hypnobirthing during my pregnancy. it was very much like meditation for me.
