I just wanted to let you know our perfect little girl Matisse entered the world on 10/12/08 at 8:58pm - very speedy beautiful homebirth (1.5 hour labour) weighing 3.72 kilos.
We did have to transfer to hospital and stay 2 nights - I lost lots and lots of blood and needed a transfusion, but I will be back to tell the "whole" story later.
But the best part is that she is now here!!! ANd she really is a very pretty baby!

ETA - thankyou so much everyone for all of your well wishes. Little Matisse truly is an angel and has slid into our home perfectly. Overnight she sleeps 5-6 hours and then a feed, followed by a further 4-5 hour sleep, I am just so so so very lucky. She truly is a blessing.
I also just wanted to send an extra special thankyou to Kelly, Trish, Tobily and Anthea.... thankyou so much for encouraging me to have the homebirth, it truly was the best thing we could have done and I will cherish it forever. Kelly, your words:
"The experience you will have with your very own midwife for a homebirth is worth so much more than an overseas holiday. It's a trip you will remember for the rest of your life... every single detail... and you'll talk about it forever. *mwa*"
so very very true and I thankyou from the bottom of my heart for saying this, these words really were the turning point in my decision making.
And of course, I must mention my wonderful midwife Jacqui Wood... if anyone is considering a homebirth in Sydney she is JUST WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!
