16th May 2008 - Zali Anne Has Arrived
Hi All
it is very exciting to advise you all that Zali decided to arrive into the world on Friday the 16th of May at 3:15pm by Caesarean after 10hrs of labour. Zali was meant to arrive by caesarean on the 22nd of May as she was still breech and we were leaving it as long as possible to see if she would turn, however she decided she did not want to wait and thought she would arrive earlier and surprise her mummy with some real labour as well.
After arriving at the hospital at 10:00am with contractions 10mins apart and baby still breech I really did not want to have a natural birth as we felt it was too risky knowing she was a big baby. The hospital had no rooms in the "Inn" so they sent me to Day ward to wait until they could fit us in for the Caesarean (don't know if any of you have visited dayward but it is a massive room with a whole heap of comfy chairs and NO PRIVACY so I was having my contractions with an audience!! Quite an experience for the onlookers I am sure, I didn't get to the swearing stage thank goodness). I had great support though with Jus & our Doula right there to keep me relaxed. At 2:45pm contractions now 5mins apart they started to take me seriously as the contractions were not going away so they came and got us and we went straight to theatre to meet our little girl. The theatre staff were amazing to say the least they made us feel so relaxed throughout the whole process. We were really surprised at how efficient they were and within minutes of being on the table we got to meet Zali, tears came as they handed us bub and everything has been great since.
We are now home and getting into our routine.....
P.S. don't worry about the ticker couldn't figure out how to change it, but the photo is cute!!!! (I think so anyway)
