17 July 07 - Relle & Rod's little man is here...
A normal physiological childbirth (i.e. no medical intervention whatsoever from artificial rupture of membranes to drugs or managed third stage) that went exactly to plan... no stitches... woke up the Ob overnight... did the breastcrawl and lots of skin to skin, and of course, a healthy little man.
Relle called me at 2.17am and he was born 2.47am so I arrived in time for the crowning and birth. Everyone was in shock at how speedy it all went, but these third babies are cheeky like that(I've not supported a third birth longer than an hour!). Relle was 8cms when she arrived.
Name to be announced shortly and it all happened so recently that bubby hasn't even been weighed yet - lots of bonding going on which is beautiful. We esimate he's around the 7lb mark, he's gorgeous and little and beautiful bright blue eyes, feeding like a champ.
Congrats Relle - you are a star! What an awesome effort, I knew you could do it.
Bugger - John's work alarm just went off - I better hop into bed!!!!
