Morning All,
Thankyou all for your lovely messages, that really do mean so much.
Well as you all know my beautiful little girl Olivia had arrived on the 14th. I was really hoping that all the stress of the pgcy would ease once little Olivia had arrived but that was not the case. There is going to be alot more visits for my little princess to the pediatricians unfortunately. They are wanting to keep a very close eye on her. We had several pediatricians a day coming in to check up on Olivia from the second she was born. I see perfection, unfortunately they see a little girl with different features to what is so called the norm. I see a little girl that is so much like her older brother her is also so very petite and small for his age. I see a little girl that is just as alert, quiet, etc, just as her siblings were. I see no difference.
My little Olivia, ( V ), we will become accustomed to calling her, due to a prominent V mark in between her eyes just above her nose (should disappear with time), which we believe symbolises Victory on her part, as she has come this far and has proven what a strong little girl she is, is such a sweeet little girl and just loves her cuddles.
She had a rough few days with having her little body poked and proded, also having sugar tests done every 3hours to make sure her temp was remaining right. The cry she would let out, was so sad. All she wanted was a cuddle from mum, which she definately got rewarded with, she also felt more relaxed in my arms and didnt want to be a way from me. She eventually began to relax alittle more once the sugar tests had stopped, her little feet were purple and bruised from them.
I couldnt cope anyore in hospital, as I felt like my little girl and I were on show for the DR's and other medical staff, so made my plee yesterday for us to be let home. The DR's really didnt want us to go home, yet heard my case and approved it, which was such a relief, I think I may have gone crazy one more night. I have been tired of crying all the time.
I have been under strict orders that we both are to be seen by my GP tomorrow, have many appts to make and meet, mostly for Olivia. I am to see the genetics team, see the pediatrician once or more a month, have a kidney ultrasound next week for little Olivia, as well as a heart ultrasound in January for Olivia and after that a cardiology specialist appt at Westmead childrens appt just after that. Seems as tho we are going to be on the go abit. Also to have my appt with the Physicians in 3mths time.
It has been a bit to take in, which is why I am so glad to now be home just to let things run of my back for a little bit.
Anyway, Olivia is doing really well, she is sooo tiny/petite and just gorgeous. Just loves her cuddles and has this little squeal she likes to give when she wants something. She weighed 5pd 2ounces, 2380grms 47cms long. I will post a pic up soon.
Thanks again all, lots of hugs.
Cheryl
Cheryl,
You're such a brave womanBig hugs to you and Olivia.... great to hear from you.
I'm sorry the last few days have been a bit of a struggle for you and Olivia... it would be very hard seeing her go through all those tests, how upsetting. She couldnt' have picked a better Mummy though and she knows she is loved.
Been thinking of you heaps over the last few days and I'm glad to hear you and Olivia are back home away from everything.... you must be so worn out.
I will follow Olivia's progress.... wishing you all well over the next few weeks as you have the appointments etc....
