    Noah James is here.

I finally gave birth on Friday, December 8th to my little man:

    Noah James H.
    8/12/2006
    12.50pm.
    8lbs. 7oz.
    54cm long.
    37cm HC!

After being induced my labour progressed quickly... I went from 4 cm and asking for pethadine, to teling the midwife I was pushing involuntarily 40mins later. Noah was born after less than 15 mins of pushing. The ob didn't make it in time for his birth but was there to deliver the placenta and stitch me up. Unfortunately because he came so quickly and he had such a big head I tore really badly. When I asked teh doc how many stitches he replied 6000. My mum said she stopped counting at 30.... When the ob uses the phrase "you're vagina basically imploded" it's really not that comforting! Nor is hearing him say, as he places a catheter (because I tore forwards, not backwards) "I think that's in the right place, it looks like it should be there" (evidently it wasn't, I had to have it inserted 3 times before they got it in position). I also had a post partum haemhorrage of about 800mls and then proceeded to faint in the shower... lol I had to be difficult! Oh well at least it was quick!

And he was most definitely worth it of course!

Congratulations Lotus. It sounds like you had a pretty rough time but I'm sure that holding your little boy more than compensates

What a beautiful, beautiful little man you have & I LOVE the name Noah! I think you chose well.
I hope that you haven't had any further complications after the 6000 stitches & the fainting in the shower. That can't have been fun.
I hope everything is going great for you now & that Noah is growing right before your eyes! ENJOY!

    Love Jayne
