    2nd Labour - Earlier/Later, Faster/Longer ??

Was your 2nd labour earlier or later? Faster or longer? Was your baby bigger or smaller? What I've read/heard is its usually earlier, faster and a smaller baby .. Just curious if it actually was or not? I'm having a VBAC very soon .. Counting down the hours/days/weeks .. lol ..

My 2nd labour was by far the most painful but was much quicker than the 1st. My first baby was 2 weeks eary, 2nd was 7 days overdue and smaller.

    DD- 37 1/2wks, induced, 23hour labour, gas and 2 pethadine shots, 3.6kgs
DS- 40w 3d, totally natural labour, not sure how long it was though I turned up at hospital at 6pm 8cm dialated after probablly labouring for at least the afternoon and DS was born in no more than an hour, 4.2kgs

My second labour was by far the better one. Even though I had pre labour for a looong time before it, I laboured at home and did it all by myself, I healed much more quickly, I was alert when baby was born and was on such a high after it. My first labour was a bit traumatic for me.

    First - 12hr labour, 7lb15oz, 39wk.
    Second - 4hr labour, 8lb 10oz, 39+4wk.

Second was faster, and way more painful. He got a bit stuck so that had something to do with the painful-ness.

    Good luck with your VBAC.

DS#1 was induced 4 days past EDD, waters broken at 7.30am, born at 1.46pm, 7lb 14oz

DS#2 was born 10 days before my EDD (went into labour naturally) waters broke at 6.oopm, born at 9.53pm, 7lb 4oz

DS#3 was induced 5 days past EDD, waters broken at 10.00am, born at 2.33pm, 8lb 2oz

So DS#2 was my best labour/birth all round ! Early, fastest (if you count from when my waters broke), smallest !

My advice is not to listen to these things and just take it as it comes
My DD was induced after my waters broke at 41 weeks. Full on labour for about 8 hours, 3 of them pushing (asynclitic- wonky head) 4kg

My DS I had an irritable uterus, he was engaged at 32 weeks and I was told I would cough and he'd be born.
After 4 long weeks of pre labour I went into labour at...what do you know....41 weeks. 12 hours, 2 and 1/2 pushing (posterior bub) 4.8kg

The second labour was easier because I wasn't on synto, but longer and not early. I drove myself mad thinking it was going to fast and early.

Just like the babies themselves I think each labour is different and you really can't predict it

Later (41 vs 37 weeks), shorter (5 hours vs 24) and bubs was 200gram and 3cm of head bigger and heavier.

4 days to go on this one, I can see him turning up late as well.

    DS1 23 hours labour, 3 days early, 7lb 10oz
DS2 (waters broke, induced as merconium in my waters) 3.5 hours, 1 week early, 7lb 3.5oz
#3 i am not too sure what to expect, will i go early again? The difference in time if i don't have to be induced? Will i go smaller again?

    DS - 9 Days overdue - Induced - 9 hours labour - 3.5kg
    DD - 2 Days early - Induced because of GD - 5 hours labour - 3.1kg

Second labour was much easier than the first. First induction got to synto drip stage, second only induced by gel. 55 Mins of pushing with the first and 12 mins of pushing with the second. I just knew what to do!!!
