Ok, first off, I check my own cervix, my OB, m/w and doula are fine with me doing so
I have checked my cervix and through it, I can feel a fuzzy, mucousy, hard head. I know bub's head is right there but shouldn't I be feeling an amniotic sac as well, cushioning the head? Have perhaps my waters gone without me knowing? I could feel my waters with DS2 but not with this one. Or maybe the amniotic sac and bub's head are just that close...but then why can I feel the fuzzy stuff on the outside?
I am seeing my OB tomorrow and will ask him the same and also get him to check.
If bubs head is there then it could just be against the membrains; when vic flew out just before the membrains broke dh said he could 'see' the hair through the membrains... Makes sence to feel 'em
you'll be able to feel the babies head through the membranes if the head is well down on the cervix, it just makes a slippery feel over the head, if the membranes are gone it feels more 'rough' ( not sure if thats the right word). If it feels mucousy to you that sounds like the membranes slippery over the head so don't stress. Sometimes the membranes are 'bulging' once contractions start and that feels like a balloon coming through the cervix, you wouldn't feel the babies head then but you might pop the bag so be careful in that situation.
Sac intact, it's just her head is so low LOL. I wonder if that means she'll have a good head of hair like DS1 instead of being a bald babe like DS2 lol. Will find out soon
