i have not heard of going past 42 weeks in recent times, but I do know my mum had me naturally at 44 weeks, 29 years ago. But that prob doesn't help you right now

I was induced when my son was 10 days over, with gel. I had had a s&S 2 days prior. Things got moving quickly, but it wasn't painful, hard and fast contractions all of a sudden as can happen with the synto drip. I didn't need anything other than the one lot of gel Everything was very bearable for about 9 hours til actual labour started.
