Thread: Baby Birth Weight

    Default Baby Birth Weight

I was just wondering if baby birth weights run in a family, or if it can be estimated before they are born.
My first baby was induced at 42 weeks, and she only weighed 2.55 kilos. The paediatrician accused me of smoking and drinking!
My son was also induced at 42 weeks, but he weighed 3.45 kilos, so a much more normal weight.
I'm just wondering that because I'm having twins, if they will be small. I'm not worried about it, just curious.

Hi Karla, this was discussed not that long ago. Here is the link for that discussion http://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums/...ad.php?t=14637

Keep in mind though that some women are meant to have small babies, just like others have large babies. I think so long and the baby is healthy, it shouldn't matter how big they are IYKWIM?
    I hope this helps you.

That's OK Karla, sometimes it doesn't take long for threads to get pushed back by new ones, making them a bit hard to find.
