Lol, do you think Iz might remember how to suckle?

Otherwise, yep, just get DH to go for it lol. Grab some massage oil, softer and more easily manipulated. Bonus of getting DH to help is that the kissing and cuddling releases good labour inducing hormones too - no sex needed!!

Not really - you will have to find what works for you otherwise can be painful.
I just used my thumb and index finger sort of the same way you would hand express IYKWIM.

Try it with your hand or with hubby's hand...and if you don't get results, do you have a breastpump Tan?
That will usually bring on some pretty decent contractions with relatively minor effort, you'll know how long is enough

You need to to do it for at least 5 minutes, if it is having no effect do both at once. Do it for about 20-30 minutes, then stop and try again later.

    Good luck

Geez Tan, I'm mighty glad you started this thread - I read somewhere you have to do it for 3 hours straight and I wasn't even gonna try! But now I've had my question answered too. C'mon little one!!!

I was going to suggest expressing, either by hand or with a pump as well.

I'm sure it isn't meant to be painful, so maybe just be guided by the sensations in terms of how long to try it for.

None for me - I tried for around 10 mins on each side before I got too tired! Will have to get DH onto it tonight if I can get over myself. Off to post a lovely nice vent so I can leave it on here and have a nice day!

Keep perservering with it Tan - give it a go for 10 or 20 minutes a few times a day if you can. Everytime you do it you're releasing hormones.
    Hang in there hun.

Yep... Oxytocin will build up with every try. It may take a few goes to get things going.

Tan, I didn't go overdue, but it took at least two weeks of me trying to do it to get him out. On the day he was born, stupid me did it after only two hours sleep not expecting it to work... and it did.
I was only doing it like once a day every three days which would have been ineffective, so if you keep at it, hopefully things will get moving eventually.

I was talking to DW about this last night, and she said to let you know that midwives advise not to do it for more than 10 minutes on each side as any longer can induce some fetal distress.

Cool thanks Schmick - I have read too that if you do both at once it can do the same so will keep it to 10 mins one side at a time.
