Ok this sounds a little crazy but just humour me please
It has been suggested to me by a midwife that women with A + blood often labour quicker than average. So wondering if those of you who laboured fast would check your blood type (if you know it) and tell me if this adds up? Personal anecdotes most welcome
My first was induced and took 10 hours of full on labour , 2nd was natural and was about 8 hours in hossy of labour plus 8 hours of weaker labour at home, 3rd was induced and was only 3 1/2 hours of full on labour and came out black and blue cause it was so fast.
I am A+ so its not really true for me! Mum had me after a really really long labour and my brother after a really fast labour and she was O+.
I'm A+ and my labour was 14 hours . Saying that though, it was my first baby, he was posterior the entire length of the labour, and second stage was 4 hours because his head was sideways. So I actually thought 14 hours was pretty good considering all of that! But I don't think most people would consider it 'fast' LOL.
I'm A+ so my first one was induced and from the start of the synto to birth was 7 hours. My second was also induced but with gel alone and from the start of niggly contractions to the end was about 9 hours
0+ here, dd1 I dialated in 45 minutes but had a emergency c sect at 34 weeks because she was breech.
Dd2 my waters were broken when contractions were 2 minutes apart, she was born 40 minutes later.
With ds I was having random contractions at home when he punched and broke my waters, contractions were instant and by the time we got to the hospital they were two minutes apart. 15 minutes later I was pushing, he came after 15 minutes of hard work (he got stuck) so it was all over in an hour.
DS waters broke at 2ish am no contractions by 9am, was induced with a drip he was born by 1pm
DD induced with drip at 9am, waters broken shortly after and she was born at 11.20am
A+ here.. i was induced with DS1 from the time my waters were broken and i had my ver first contraction till he was out was 4 hours 19 mins.. i think that is a pretty fast one!
