    Confused about my due date....

When I first fell pg going from the date of my last period the MW told me my due date was the 7th Feb.....

Then when we went for our U/S they said it was the 14th Feb.....

Last night we went in for a checkup and monitoring as we weren't sure if we had a hindwater leak (????) and the midwife said we can go from the original due date if we liked, especially as I was very sure about the date of my last period..... What the????

That would mean that I am now 40 plus 2 instead of 39 plus ......

Who should I be paying attention to?

Does that mean I am now overdue or is my due date still Saturday?

Nothing seems to be happening yet so not sure what I should be doing

    Thanks Everyone

Which u/s did they change your dates at - 12 weeks or 18-20 weeks?
The earlier scans are usually more accurate, becuase a lter scan can just show you are having a smaller or larger baby than the average size.

You are not "overdue" until 42 weeks, so if you like you could go on the earlier dates and request a scan for placenta function when you would be 41-42 weeks by those dates.

You can be sure enough of your LMP dates, but thats only really of use if you o'd on day 14. If you have a regular cycle thats great but if not then its your O date or conception date that you'd need to know to be more accurate.

I hope ive been more helpful than confusing..

i would say go by your furtherest date(14th) simply so you have more of a chance to go naturally by yourself rather then induced when it might be only just at due date...iykwim?

I am sticking with my latest date too hun, My MW told me to stay with the latest one so that if the Ob in charge wants them to induce me sha can say well no, this baby is just a little big for dates that's all.

one week is not a lot either.
I had an u/s at 36 weeks with DS and was told according to the scan he should be due the folowing day!
And I went 10 days past my EDD based on LMP.

    thanks for the responses.....

they changed my due date at my 12week scan .... turned out we were only 10 weeks not 12...

I think I will just ask them to go off my due date of the 14th...that way I don't have to contend with them trying to induce me iykwim....

ditto! the longer you can get without pressure off OBs the better!

Your baby is due when it has finished cooking (so only it knows)..... All others are just guessing and trying to put you in a nice neat box!
