We waited til it stopped pulsating, which for us was around 15 minutes or so, from memory (which is abit hazy, time-wise, mind you lol)
But somewhere around there it also took me about 45 minutes to deliver the placenta without the injection too if that helps
Same as the others, it stopped pulsating after about 15 minutes. I delivered it without the injection while it was still attached.
I think i was so caught up in the adrenalin and bub that I didn't really notice what was going on
DS cord stopped pulsating relatively quickly after he was born, less than 10 mins. Best thing ive ever witnessed though.......DCC, i had the most alert and pink baby in my arms, not at all like the others that were blue for a bit and sleepy.
We delayed cord clamping with both our babies (and will again this time). For us it stopped fairly quickly both times. Probably about 5 minutes. Once it had stopped pulsing we clamped and cut the cord before I would allow them to give my the synthetic oxytocin injection. I didn't want the bubs getting any of the injection through the cord. After that my placenta delivered within a couple of minutes each time. We were then left for at least an hour each time to bond with our precious bundles ♥
We were leaving the cord to pulsate but were going to attempt to collect cord blood if possible.
But DD2's cord had stopped pulsating within a minute. It was a really fat cord too! I don't think it's common to stop quite that quickly, but there you go.
She was pink as soon as she emerged and apparently had her eyes open and blinking and mouth moving underwater when only her head was out.
It was only a couple of minutes I think? I to honest it could have been a lot longer, I was just in a daze staring at ds! It was probably 5 minutes?? I do remember asking if it had stopped pulsating when the midwife was getting it all ready for dh to clamp.
