Did anyones regular contractions just stop?

Well i have been having rgular contractions since 7am.. approx 5 mins apart - 30-50sec and very painful!

not getting closer but getting longer (slowly)....

i am wondering if it will just stop.... has this happened to anyone else?

Any ideas on moving things along so it doesnt last another 24 hrs?

The night before I had Emily I went into labour, only for it to stop after 5 hours. It was extremely annoying. So when I did go into labour, I just assumed it was another false alarm, and went to bed, lol. Even when I went in the hospital and found out I was 3cm and in actual labour, I didn't believe it and spent my whole labour on the bed resting. Luckily it was only 6 hours.
Good luck, hopefully things happen tonight and you get to meet your little one soon.

To help get the contractions moving alone you can try massaging clary sage mixed in a carrier oil into your belly.

Also drinking lots of raspberry leaf tea.

Rest is good too between contractions. Especially since it is night time, you'll need all the rest youc an get.

I would not suggest having a bath though as it may stop the contractions. Unless that is what you want to give youself a break. But it may very will move labour along which is a good thing too.

If they are still like this in the morning, go for a long walk.

Hope it isn't too much longer for you! Goodluck!

They'll probably pick up overnight....night time and oxytocin are a potent mix

    Get an early night

    And good luck!!

Try to relax - a shower or bath always sped things up for me (haha, I say always, like I give birth weekly or something). Some people say it speeds labour, others say it slows it, so guess it's an individual thing. You'll do ace PP!!

    Have sex
    Scrub your skirting boards
tweek your nipples (or use a breastpump if you have one)
Did you go for that walk??
ummmm what else OH I know, go to bed to try & get a good night sleep so you're well rested for when labour really kicks in. I bet you will fall asleep only to wake an hour or so later in full on get to the hospital NOW labour.

hehe - I guess the answer to her question would be that regular contractions stopped once the baby was born!

    Congrats PP
