The difference between 36 & 37 weeks? TMI also involved.
I have been having pains 3 mins apart lasting 20-30 secs for the last hour. I have also just had diahorrea and feel a bit sick.
I am hoping it is going to be just bad BHs but it has got me thinking. Should I call the hospital right now and let them know? I don't want to have to go in an be continuously monitored, but seeing that I am only 36+1 I am worried that perhaps I should be?
Is there really much difference between a baby being born at this stage and a baby being born next week at what is considered to be term?
I don't want to do something wrong by my baby if I am actually in labour.
DD2 was born at 36, when we were in hospital one of the SCNnurses actually said alot of 36 weekers do better than the 37 weekers!
i think the main issue is the sucking reflex. best of luck hun
ETA, should also add, DD2 did amazingly well and we were home the very next day.
we had continual monitoring, bubs heartrate kept dipping, apparently because she didnt like her head being smooshed (posterior)
I'd think you might be in early labour. I'd suggest calling the hospital and maybe going in. As for continual monitoring, if you are in labour but not far advanced, then go home (that's what I did with DS1). It's up to YOU if you want continual monitoring. Although you're 36w, if your bub isn't in any distress and your labour is progressing well then I'd think it's your call. Good luck hun.
