With my DD I wasn't allowed to eat, the midwives put me on nil by mouth becaus they thought I would need a c/s (Luckily I didn't and I proved them all wrong!!!) and was put on a drip. With DS I ate a little bit and had some gatoraide (I think!) but threw it up not long afterwards. I drank lots of water though and sucked on ice.
