First stage labour - Whingefest alert!!! Feeling alone

I am incredibly frustrated!!!! I am a few days off being due so I know some of you might find this strange but I have experienced such pain and discomfort during this pregnancy I am tired and would really like to meet my baby now. I did have an expectation that she would be born by now based on the fact that my first was born at 38 weeks. 2 Fridays ago I had a Stretch and Sweep which is meant to help (in most or some cases) labour start if you are favourable (already dilating) I was at that stage 2cm. This was followed by days of mucus coming out (white mainly) and 3 days of painful Braxton Hicks. Then nothing.

Yesterday I had another Stretch and Sweep, this time I was 3cm dilated. This was followed by a bloody show. Today at about 1pm I started to have mild contractions which occurred every 30 mins (at one stage every 20mins) and all ended at around 9pm. I am finding this so frustrating!!!! I just want this to happen. I have tried lots of the wives tales etc... but nothing is really helping.

My last pregnancy was so easy and the labour was not a stop start joke. I had mild cramping the day before then woke at 3am to my first contraction, waters broke and it all came on pretty strong and quick after that.

I really just wanted to vent. Maybe I am being way too negative and I might wake overnight with things starting up again or maybe not! SORRY for the whingefest! sometimes you just feel so alone!!!! like i feel now.

Thanks to those who have spent the time to read this post.

Erm... if you were 3cm dilated yesterday and today you feel like you have HAD ENOUGH... I would suggest your beautiful baby is not far away!! I hope you meet her very soon. Good luck with your labour and delivery, I look forward to your BA!!

hopefully we get to meet our bundles really soon.

I have a bit of an idea how you feel as tomorrow is my due date and my first, like yours, was born at 38w exactly so was not really expecting to be in this position! I'm starting to wonder if this bub is ever planning on coming! Been having pretty painful twinges yesterday and today. Let's hope it isn't long for either of us before our babies are safely here.

Technically not due yet but a condition has me measuring post dates and expected to go any time. The drs are surprised I've lasted this long.

*Sigh* another night of contractions that have died off.

(sorry to hijack your thread) xx

Oh that sounds exactly like my experience with ds. Dd was born at 38 weeks and ds was born at 40 weeks, so the last two weeks just crept past, while I was eagerly anticipating him 'any day now'. I also had stop and start contractions for a week and lost my plug three days before he was born (with very painful contractions).

I was also slowly dilating, so then when labour actually started it was super quick (so watch that!)

I had a massive, massive cry the day before he was born, so I really recommend trying to let it all out now...it's so overwhelming when you anticipate labour each day, and have to endure contractions while going about your every day life...and still the baby doesnt come!

Hang in there! Today could be your day.
