Thanks Saffy, i think i am lucky in that my girls were 'smallish' babies and although i never got to hear about dilation with either of the girls my contractions didn't progress past 3-5min so i think i must dilate quickly aswell.
I was a breech bub, not sure about all the finer details.
Born feet first, naturaly, weighing 8 pound 12.
Mum has told me a few times that i was easier and less painfull then my sister who was head first and apparently "burnt like all hell"
Also, She said it was creepy and she freaked when something slimy toched her leg, turned out it was my leg!
I joke sometimes that i was born "backwards" when mum tries to correct something she thinks im doing wrong.
Well what happened was the caesar didn't take long, and I was given a private room. But the after care wasn't there as it was a Saturday, the advice as to what you do after a caesar didn't happen until the Monday.
So I unfortunately ate a heavy meal, and had some kind of minor bowel obstruction, which then caused me to projectile vomit, and then this went on for a day and a half, and I ended up getting a nasal gastric tube which was horrendous, I pulled it out! All I needed was some help to get on my feet and sit on the loo. Then when my bowels got going I couldn't control that for a bit either. However I then recovered and they wanted us discharged and we somehow managed to stay in one extra night. It was horrible, I was trying to BF and I threw up on Jim a few times. The first night they took him to the "nursery" which was just at the nurses station, and the following night I had to beg them to do that. I also had to beg for top up feeds, and sometimes had to wait for the change in shift, simply to get a different staff member.
Not only that as I was so ill, at times I was either neglected or other times, there were too many staff giving me advice on this that and the other either to do with myself or with Jim. It was crazy. Of course we also had some government survey man and some professional photographer pop in as well to annoy us.
