I'm not sure what you can put on it but just do the usual drinking plenty of water to dilute your wee and lean forward a bit whilst weeding.
Hopefully someone has another solution for you :-)
So had a fantastic birth on Thursday morning, but left with some grazes. Not to the usual perenium but to the urethra and labia. Stings like mad to pee, and getting a bit more uncomfortable as it is healing.
Sure I am not the first... What can I do to help? I have been trying bepanthen tonight, not sure of it is of use?
Also ob gave me some of the neutralizing sachets to drink, but still not great.
Help! X

Im just drinking heaps of water!! I bought some ural (neutraliser). i do lean right forward when i wee. you can also get a cup of warm water and pour it over your self while you wee. ice packs might help to with swelling etc..

My midwife showed me how to make stuff which was lovely to squeeze over my bits when i was peeing.
in a 2L container, put whole lot of fresh lavendar and rosemary. Add boiling water and allow to infuse for a few hours. When cool, strain liquid and put into a squeezie bottle. Squeeze over your bits when you go to the loo. Smells lovely and very soothing.
i had grazing to the front & stitches to the back - i found sitting up as straight as possible when i was peeing helped. i also changed the pad every time i went to the toilet to keep things as clean as possible & drank jeaps of water. i love hot i's suggestion as well - sounds awesome!
and i must have missed your ba - have been waiting for it! congratulations!!!

I had stitches near the urethra, so I know how you feel!
When it was really bad, I used to jump in the shower, and spread the legs and pee like that (glamorous huh? Lol) it then helped the pee to not touch the stitches lol.
Other than that, could you try rose hip oil? That was fantastic for me, I did have to get DH to put it on though, as I couldn't see where the stitches were, but it didn't hurt one bit putting the oil on (which I was petrified of!)
oh and I second drinking loads of water!! That is probably the best thing to help take the sting out IMO.

My grazes with Ianto hurt more than my second degree tearing with Amelia! I feel your pain (or, I felt it)

Salt baths! Highly recommend them. Just put a cup of salt in a shallow bath and sit in it and make sure you splash it over the area.
Use a squeeze bottle (like tomato sauce squirts bottle or drink bottle) and use that to squirt water at your bits while you pee.
And sunshine. Apparently that helps. Last birth I had a great spot where I could lie on my bed and get heaps of sunlight on sore spots, but still in privacy. This time will be trickier!
Lavender essential oil would work, maybe? Otherwise, I'm sure the leaves would be fine.
My midwife also recommends sea salt in the bath when you bathe, and they give out a peri-bottle (just a small squeezable bottle) to every new mom. You fill the bottle with warm water from the tap and use it to rinse as you pee. Helps A LOT! They make up an herbal infusion to add to a bath for you to soak in after the birth too, and you can save some to add to your pee bottle... Can't remember what's all in it... shepherd's purse, comfrey, lavendar....? I'll see if I can find out.![]()
i've had stitches and grazes. i found salt baths are good for healing and witch hazel dabbed on afterwards. Dry down there with a hair dryer if drying with a towel is too painful. And i pee in the shower too.
I just had HEAPS of water, and leant to one side to pee.
Be careful not to have ANYTHING acidic - I accidentally had salad dressing and wholy tolidas that hurt like crazy.
I think thats what I had altho no one told me. I used to (gingerly) seperate everything down there so that wee would go straight into the toilet. I also used lots of icepacks (or frozen condoms with water in them) for the swelling and I too constantly changed pads.
