    Help!

    Typing between contractions...

a few days ago the babies head really engaged, dropped down low.

I have heaps of pelvic / rectal pressure. 2 days ago starting having blood streaked mucous which is getting bloodier. We DTD all week without any spotting, and dtd the night before it started, so not sure if the DTD caused it, but it has been happening for 2 days now.

Contractions started last night around 11 pm, not too painful. Became regular, 6 mins apart at 2 am, they were more painful then the ones at 11 pm but I thought not painful enough to be real. Didn't sleep all night, contractions continued, but now are starting to slow down.

What do I do? Is this the real thing? The contractions hurt but are not excruciating. I lost my plug weeks ago. Last checkup I had barely gained any weight (1kg in the last 5 weeks) nothing in the urine, bp slightly elevated but not much.

Sounds like you're in early labour love . My first labour started off a lot like yours, contractions would become regular, then drop off for a while. If you are concerned about anything just give your hospital/OB a call to ask for their advice.

Keep active if you want to help things along, but take it easy also, you will need all of your energy very soon.

Good luck, I can't wait to read your BA!

Sounds like things are starting for you -- if you are concerned about anything don't hesitate to call the hospital or even just head on in, it is what they are there for!! What is the worst that happens? They tell you there is nothing to worry about... that is great to hear, even if you might feel a little embarrassed for worrying!!

Also, if you feel like walking then walk, if you feel like resting then rest -- trust yourself and your body, it knows what it needs/wants to do right now! Everyone said to stay active but I felt I needed time out so laid myself on a bed and catnapped between contractions. Not being active didn't ruin anything for me because it was what I needed -- no pain relief or tears/cuts/stitches so it worked out right in the end. Basically, just listen to what your body wants!!

    Good luck!

If bubs posterior, get on your hands and knees and rock side to side.

    I'm so excited for you!

ETA: If you feel the contrax are slowing down, try some nipple stimulation.

Oh dear. Posterior labour. Not fun. Walk to get it moving for sure, when you *need* the rest and your feet cant take anymore, I recommend hands and knees facing over the back of the sofa. Like your knees on the sofa facing backwards and lean over the back in any way that is comfortable. They always had a single recliner in the delivery room for dad that I used for that with my posterior labours. It can be easier to get off the seat than off the floor when you are transitioning. Also a good way to deliver is you can get yourself comfortable like that.

Good luck! Looking out for a BA!

DS was posterior. I propped up over the end of the bed with a bean bag under my belly. It took his weight off my back & I had no back pain at all til I had to turn over again.
Could someone rub some baby oil or similar into your lower back while your on your hands & knees? It was blissful for me.
Hope the walk helped. Good luck!
