How long did your lochia last?

    Hi everyone,

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right section but just wonder how long did you have loss for after a VB?

I'm 3.5weeks post birth now and my loss is scant but I'm totally over it. I'm hoping its not going to go for too much longer..... pls give me some good news

    TIA

With my girls it was gone by 5 or 6 weeks, but with DS it took 8 or 9 weeks. I think it only took that long this time coz I got the depo needle 2 days after DS was born & my body was getting used to it again.

5 weeks for me, but only very light for the last 10 days or so! Everyone is different but hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones that stops soon!

Mine lasted 12 days (with DD1) then went...and then AF came back about 2 weeks later for 10 days.

DD2 lasted bout 14 days and never got AF til 6 weeks after birth

Mine lasted 6 weeks with DD, DS1&2. So im looking at an average of the same again.
Congrats on the birth of Aidan!

My DD was born a day before your DS & I've still got some. The last day or so it has really slowed down, not much more than brown mucusy stuff when I wipe, but there's still enough thre not to risk going without a pad IYKWIM. With my DS it lasted the ful six weeks, only slowing after around 5 weeks. So it really does vary.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Sounds like there's a huge range of what's "normal". My loss was never very heavy even straight after the birth so I've been worried that its going to drag on.

Sarah - I'm pretty much the same as you ATM. I could probably go without a pad but I'm not game. Hopefully its nearly over for both of us

    Thanks again everyone!

Mine was gone by 2.5 weeks but I had a pseudo spotting AF at 5 weeks that I think was more likely to have been more lochia

First time it stopped exactly on 6 weeks, this time it is still going after 6 weeks Thought it would be better as to start off it was quite light compared to previously. Spoke to my ob about it today and he thinks it has something to do with me breastfeeding.
