I am number 4 out of 5 children. Elder of fraternal twins. My mum had VB for all of us.

My brother and were born a week past our EDD. I don't recall mum saying anything about pain relief. In fact I can recall mum saying she laughed with the nurses about popping us out like rabbits.
Mum didn't know she was expecting twins. I was born bum first and was then told that she had another one coming.
Pretty amazing hey how things were able to happen the natural way without US and intervention for twins back then. I also know a lady who had VB twins in the 80's that were unexpected.
