DS was 6 days overdue and the OB says that probably means that this pregnancy will go past 40 weeks as well because that's just how long my body takes.
Don't get me wrong, I like this approach! I really want a spontaneous labour, early or late. I just can't shake the feeling that this time I will be early. (I don't think this is wishful thinking LOL!)
I just want to know if anyone out there went into spontaneous labour much earlier or much later in a subsequent pregnancy??
First pregnancies are often longer than all the rest and are more likely to go post dates. But it's not an indication of what will happen in other ones - I recently had a mum who had her first baby at nearly 42 weeks and her second one came at 38 weeks Both were spontaneous labours. You just never know.
I certainly hope that isn't the case!! Elliott was 12 days overdue and had to be induced then appeared at 10lb 14oz!! My midwife promised me that she wouldn't let me go that far overdue again. The only reason I waited is because I wanted to go into spontaneous labour.
DS 1 was 3 weeks overdue (due 24/3 born 13/4) - (spontaneous labour)
DS 2 was 2 weeks over (due 1/5 born 15/5) (induced) so no idea now long he would have taken
DS 1 5 days late
DD 1 5 days late
DD 2 3 weeks early (waters broke nothing happened induced next day)
DD 3 7 days late
DD 4 15 days late
DS 2 7 days late
